Veteran Public Affairs and Energy Expert Steve Burns Joins Summit Strategy Group as a Managing Director
LOS ALTOS, Calif., (September 29, 2022)–– Summit Strategy Group, LLC, (Summit), a California-based national public affairs, corporate reputation and ESG consulting firm, today announced that Steve Burns has joined the firm as a Managing Director, based in Sacramento.
“Steve has helped a wide range of organizations successfully navigate some of the most complex public policy and regulatory issues in California,” said Michael Law, Summit Founder and CEO. “His decades of experience across a variety of industries and issues will be invaluable both to the Summit client roster and our team.”
Burns joins Summit with nearly 30 years’ experience in international relations, energy, government relations, state and federal public policy matters, regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement. He began his career focused on international trade issues working for the Asia Foundation and the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council, and then moved into the energy sector leading policy groups, public affairs and government relations teams at Enron and Chevron. He later spent nearly six years with Burson-Marsteller, where he worked with Law, and three years with Mercury Public Affairs/Actum providing Fortune 500 clients with public affairs and crisis counsel. He also has experience as both a staffer and a lobbyist on Capitol Hill.
