Paul Sherer

National Media Lead

Paul is a seasoned communications counselor who offers experience in corporate communications and journalism. Paul counsels clients on communications strategy, message development and positioning, story development, media relations, and crisis and issues management. He helps companies and organizations reach and influence their target audiences with powerful messaging and compelling stories.

 

At Ogilvy Public Relations, Paul led the Corporate Practice for the Western U.S., running a team of 15, managing seven-figure client budgets and leading global accounts. He provided senior counsel to clients including Wells Fargo, Ford, Molson Coors, SunPower, Chevron, Virgin America, Apollo Group, Genpact, and California’s State Compensation Insurance Fund.

 

Before joining Ogilvy, Paul was a reporter for The Wall Street Journal covering corporate finance, with an emphasis on mergers & acquisitions, private equity, deal financing, and bankruptcies and restructuring. He often wrote the widely followed Heard on the Street column. As the Asian Wall Street Journal’s Bangkok correspondent, Paul helped lead coverage of the Asian financial crisis of 1997-1998.
